Jon Hammond: Die Musikmesse. Jahr als The Jon Hammond Show -- Music, Travel and Soft News präsentiert.

Mal in Folge.

In English: The oyster Jazz in April postponed by three days. Reason is visiting from America. Mr. Jon Hammond is in town, and his name says it all. He plays the Hammond organ like no other. As a backing band, the usual suspects from the oyster Jazz will operate under the direction of Michael Leuschner.

Dwight Eugene "Doc" Gooden[1] (born November 16, 1964), nicknamed "Dr. K", is a former Major League Baseball pitcher. He was one of the most dominant and feared pitchers in the National League in the middle and late 1980s.
A native of Tampa, Florida, Dwight Gooden was drafted in the first round in 1982, the fifth player taken overall. He spent one season in the minors, in which he led the Class-A Carolina League in wins, strikeouts and ERA while playing for the Lynchburg Mets. Gooden had 300 strikeouts in 191 innings, a performance which convinced Triple-A Tidewater Tides manager, future Mets skipper Davey Johnson, that he was capable of making the unusual leap to the major league.
[edit]1984–1994: New York Mets
[edit]1984
Gooden made his major-league debut on April 7, 1984 with the New York Mets at the age of 19. He quickly developed a reputation with his 98 MPH fastball and sweeping curveball, which was given the superlative nickname of "Lord Charles", in contrast with "Uncle Charlie", a common nickname for a curveball. He was dubbed "Dr. K", (by analogy with basketball's "Dr. J", Julius Erving, and also in reference to the letter "K" being the standard abbreviation for strikeout), which soon became shortened to "Doc". Gooden soon attracted a rooting section at Shea Stadium that called itself "The K Korner", and would hang up cards with a red "K" after each of his strikeouts.
When he took the mound in the fifth inning on July 10, 1984, Gooden became the youngest player to appear in an All-Star Game. He complemented this distinction by striking out the side, AL batters: Lance Parrish, Chet Lemon, and Alvin Davis. Setting up Gooden, NL Pitcher Fernando Valenzuela had already struck out the side in the fourth, putting down future Hall of Famers Dave Winfield, Reggie Jackson, and George Brett. The two pitchers’ combined performance broke an All-Star game record, coincidentally on its celebrated 50th Anniversary—Carl Hubbell's five consecutive strikeouts in 1934.
That season, Gooden won 17 games, the most by a 19-year-old since Wally Bunker won 19 games in 1964 and the second most for a Mets rookie, after Jerry Koosman's 19 wins in 1968. Gooden won eight of his last nine starts; in his final three starts of the 1984 season, he had 41 strikeouts and 1 walk. Gooden led the league in strikeouts, his 276 breaking Herb Score's rookie record of 245 in 1955, and also set the record for most strikeouts in three consecutive starts with 43. As a 19-year-old rookie, Gooden set the then-major league record for strikeouts per 9 innings, with 11.39, breaking Sam McDowell's record of 10.71 in 1965. He was voted the Rookie of The Year, giving the Mets two consecutive winners of that award (Darryl Strawberry had been the recipient in 1983). Gooden also became the third Mets pitcher to win the award, joining Tom Seaver (1967) and Jon Matlack (1972). Gooden finished second in the NL Cy Young Award voting, even though he had more NL wins, strikeouts and a lower ERA than the NL winner Rick Sutcliffe.

Also the 'gurken salat' (cucumber salad) is excellent and the pommes frites (french fries) are excellent with homemade curry ketchup. Also enjoy very much the original art work from the late great artist Erwin Ross, some of his last work before he was tragically struck down by an automobile. (Erwin painted Beatles logo.svg. Wordmark of The Beatles, originally painted directly on drum by Erwin Ross, Hamburg. Date. 1960) ask Peter when you are in there enjoying the world's best chicken. People actually fight over the chickens sometimes because they can not cook them fast enough, so get there when it's not busy or be patient and wait...it's worth it!

This Impromptu Jam with 3 greats BILL COBHAM, DOUG WIMBISH & JOE BERGER happened at Gibson Guitar Party in Frankfurt Germany, captured by Jon Hammond originally shown on The Jon Hammond Show *24th year NYC. COBHAM born May 16, 1944 in Panama, is one of the world's best and most influential drummers known for his jazz fusion in the 1970s, with John McLaughlin's Mahavishnu Orchestra, where he pioneered a powerful style of drumming with jazz, rock and funk influences has an enormous Discography. WIMBISH (born September 22, 1956) is a bass player, primarily known for his studio work for the rap/hip hop label Sugarhill Records and his membership of the band Living Colour. He has played for a vast range of artists, among which Jeff Beck, Mick Jagger, Madonna, George Clinton, Depeche Mode, and Mos Def. Wimbish is considered to be a pioneer in hip hop bass playing.
BERGER has engineered mixed and mastered thousands of recordings and played with John Entwistle of THE WHO and member of JON HAMMOND Band. Seen here playing a special Gibson LES PAUL, whom (Les) Joe has also worked with and Paul has appeared on Hammond's long-running cable tv show in NYC.

Every time I am in Hamburg I go directly to see main man Peter at Mini-Grill,
he makes the World's Best Chicken, no doubt about it.

Chris Grove Hiya. What was the application you used the cabs for? Also, it looks like they might be 3 way? Or is that a port, and they are two way? Seeing these on my phone, so can't really tell. How is the sound quality? Are they heavy? Why is the sky blue? Hee!

Jon Hammond Hi Chris, powered the new Hammond Sk1 organ, plug-and-play awesome, pretty tough to blow up a Bag End and I play all my bass all the time, can't beat it, all the best, Jon

Chris Grove Nice. That was my next question. Can it handle all the frequencies of a hammond? That's impressive!

Chris Grove I've been thinking of getting a sub for my home rig, since low end can be an issue with keys. Sounds like these can handle it, without the need for dragging around a heavy sub.

Scottsdale Arizona -- Jon Hammond at Fender World Headquarters - Jon Hammond has been a Fender amp user since 1966, Band-Master and Twin-Reverb amps, and met Leo Fender personally in 1987, R.I.P. Leo Fender

Leo's Wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leo_Fender
Born Clarence Leonidas Fender
August 10, 1909
Anaheim, California, United States
Died March 21, 1991 (aged 81)
Fullerton, California, United States
Clarence Leonidas "Leo" Fender (August 10, 1909 – March 21, 1991) was an American inventor who founded Fender Electric Instrument Manufacturing Company, or "Fender" for short. He left the company in the late 1960s, and later founded two other musical instrument companies, Music Man and G&L Musical Instruments.
The guitars, bass guitars, and amplifiers he designed from the 1940s on are still relevant: the Fender Telecaster (1950) was the first mass-produced electric guitar; the Fender Stratocaster (1954) is among the world's most iconic electric guitars; the Fender Precision Bass (1951) set the standard for electric bass guitars; and the Fender Bassman amplifier, popular enough in its own right, became the basis for later amplifiers (notably by Marshall and Mesa Boogie) that dominated rock and roll music. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992.
Clarence Leonidas Fender ("Leo") was born on August 10, 1909, to Clarence Monte Fender and Harriet Elvira Wood, owners of a successful orange grove located between Anaheim and Fullerton, California.
From an early age, Fender showed an interest in tinkering with electronics. When he was 13 years old, his uncle, who ran an automotive-electric shop, sent him a box filled with discarded car radio parts, and a battery. The following year, Leo visited his uncle's shop in Santa Maria, California, and was fascinated by a radio his uncle had built from spare parts and placed on display in the front of the shop. Leo later claimed that the loud music coming from the speaker of that radio made a lasting impression on him. Soon thereafter, Leo began repairing radios in a small shop in his parents' home.
In the spring of 1928, Fender graduated from Fullerton Union High School, and entered Fullerton Junior College that fall, as an accounting major. While he was studying to be an accountant, he continued to teach himself electronics, and tinker with radios and other electrical items but never took any kind of electronics course.
After college, Fender took a job as a deliveryman for Consolidated Ice and Cold Storage Company in Anaheim, where he later was made the bookkeeper. It was around this time that a local band leader approached Leo, asking him if he could build a public address system for use by the band at dances in Hollywood. Fender was contracted to build six of these PA systems.
In 1933, Fender met Esther Klosky, and they were married in 1934. About that time, he took a job as an accountant for the California Highway Department in San Luis Obispo. In a depression government change-up, his job was eliminated, and he then took a job in the accounting department of a tire company. After working there six months, Leo lost his job along with the other accountants in the company.
[edit]Fender Radio Service
In 1938, with a borrowed $600, Leo and Esther returned to Fullerton, and Leo started his own radio repair shop, "Fender Radio Service." Soon, musicians and band leaders began coming to him for PA systems, which he built, rented, and sold. They also visited his store for amplification for the amplified acoustic guitars that were beginning to show up in the southern California music scene—in big band and jazz music, and for the electric "Hawaiian" or "lap steel" guitars becoming popular in country music.
[edit]Early guitar builds
During World War II, Leo met Clayton Orr "Doc" Kauffman, an inventor and lap steel player who had worked for Rickenbacker, which had been building and selling lap steel guitars for a decade. While with Rickenbacker, Kauffman had invented the "Vibrola" tailpiece, a precursor to the later vibrato or "tremolo" tailpiece. Fender convinced him that they should team up, and they started the "K & F Manufacturing Corporation" to design and build amplified Hawaiian guitars and amplifiers. In 1944, Leo and Doc patented a lap steel guitar with an electric pickup already patented by Fender. In 1945, they began selling the guitar, in a kit with an amplifier designed by Fender...
